centroricercagianfrancoferre.itThe Gianfranco Ferré Research Centre, Digital Innovation for Creative and Cultural Industries, was established in December 2021 by the Politecnico di Milano following the donation to the university of the historical archive and headquarters of the former Gianfranco Ferré Foundation by the Ferré family.
Gianfranco Ferré: The Digital Evolution of the Historical Archive
In collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano, we oversaw the technological development of the platform, focusing on the backend architecture and the functional implementation of the frontend. While the visual design was the work of our creative partners, our role was to translate that vision into a robust digital ecosystem capable of managing the immense complexity of an invaluable historical heritage.
The core of our project was the integration of the digitized archive, transformed into an augmented archive through the development of dedicated software solutions. We implemented 360° model visualization, enabling an interactive experience of the garments that highlights their volumes and sartorial details.
The result is a high-performance infrastructure that pushes the boundaries of museum conservation toward the new frontiers of digital interaction.
